Democracy is in decline; and in comparison to goods, wealth, disease, pollution, etc., people and their political power struggle to move across borders. So, it is past time that we - as global citizens - rise up. Now more than ever we must work hard to build movements and participate in civic engagement to realize healthy communities and societies for all. Only together, with passion and dedication for driving positive social change globally, can we right the unfolding devastation of a rise in authoritarianism, human development and health indications backsliding, and divides between those who have and those who have not widening.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you join the movement you are signing up to participate in campaigns calling for policy change or investment in the interest of people and the planet. We run campaigns across three thematic areas - healthy people, healthy planet, and healthy society. Each campaign has a clear and SMART ask for change, as well as a target for where the change needs to happen. With all our campaigns, our country and issue ambassadors work to educate you about the issue and keep you informed of important changes, opportunities for impact, and intel. They also develop helpful resources to support you to take effective action, and mobilize Global Sentinels to act when there are particularly time sensitive windows of opportunity for our collective influence. Issue and country ambassadors work hard to equip you with information, tools, and energy needed to stand guard and defend the interests of people and the planet without you having to quit your day job. Think of them as your chief of staff and get ready to be a deeply informed and engaged global citizen who gives a shit!
WE WORK DIGITALLY TO DRIVE REAL TIME ACTION AT SCALE
When you become a Global Sentinel you get access to our member only virtual spaces, such as Discord, Townhalls and Q&A’s with issue experts, resource and asset libraries, and more - all powered by our issue and country ambassadors. Don’t worry though, while we do lean hard into the power of digital tools and movement building, we also offer plenty of opportunities for you to engage in real life (IRL) too. Join a local group to meet fellow Sentinels in person, participate in stunts or events in your community, or attend global events and leadership retreats with ambassadors working for the Global Sentinels Movement.
